Do I need an alarm panel for camera-only monitoring?
No. Alertor camera-only plans work independently without an alarm panel or security system. Your cameras connect directly to your Wi-Fi network and are managed entirely through the Alarm.com app. Just plug in your cameras, connect to Wi-Fi, and start monitoring. If you decide later that you want a full security system, you can upgrade to one of our alarm monitoring plans at any time.
What cameras work with Alertor camera-only plans?
Alertor camera plans support all Alarm.com-compatible cameras, including the Alarm.com Indoor AI Camera, Outdoor AI Camera, Video Doorbell Camera, and Battery-Powered Doorbell Camera. All cameras feature HD video, night vision, and are managed through the Alarm.com app. You can mix and match any combination of cameras up to your plan limit.
How does Alertor compare to Surety camera plans?
Alertor Eye starts at just $9.99/month compared to Surety’s Cam plan at $11/month. Beyond the lower price, Alertor offers three distinct tiers so you can scale up to advanced features like AI analytics, person and vehicle detection, 24/7 continuous recording, AI deterrence, and up to 30 days of cloud storage. Can I upgrade to a full security plan later?
Absolutely. You can upgrade from a camera-only plan to any full security monitoring plan at any time. Your existing cameras and cloud clips carry over seamlessly. There are no upgrade fees or penalties. Simply choose your new plan and your service updates immediately. You can also upgrade between camera-only tiers (Eye to View, View to Vision) whenever you need more cameras or features.
Is there a contract or cancellation fee?
No. All Alertor camera-only plans are month-to-month with absolutely no contracts. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time without penalties or cancellation fees. Your service simply ends at the close of your current billing period. We believe in earning your business every month, not locking you in.
