Monitoring Service Agreement

1. Agreement Overview

These Terms and Conditions ("Agreement") govern your use of the monitoring services ("Services") provided by Alertor ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"), located in New York, NY 10032. By purchasing or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these terms.

Alertor is an Alarm.com Authorized Dealer providing professional alarm monitoring services on a month-to-month basis with no long-term contracts.

2. Services Provided

Alertor provides the following services through the Alarm.com platform:

  • Professional Monitoring: 24/7 monitoring of your alarm system by a UL-listed central monitoring station. Included in all plans at no extra charge.
  • Self-Service Account Management: You manage your alarm system, user codes, and settings through the Alarm.com website and mobile app.
  • Interactive Services: Depending on your plan, this may include remote arming/disarming, video surveillance, smart home automation, and notifications.

3. Plans and Pricing

Alertor offers the following self-service monitoring plans:

  • Alert: $14.99/month — Monitored security (no app)
  • Reach: $18.99/month — Mobile app, remote arm/disarm
  • SYN: $21.99/month — Full smart home automation
  • Watch: $24.99/month — 4 cameras, video analytics
  • Watch Plus: $28.99/month — Everything combined

Business plans are available at custom pricing. Contact us for a quote.

Prices are subject to change with 30 days' written notice to the customer. Any price changes will take effect at the start of the next billing cycle following the notice period.

4. No Contracts — Month-to-Month Service

All Alertor monitoring services are provided on a month-to-month basis. There are no long-term contracts, no commitment periods, and no early termination fees. You may cancel at any time.

5. Billing and Payment

  • Services are billed monthly in advance.
  • Payment is due on your billing date each month.
  • We accept major credit cards and debit cards via our secure payment processor.
  • If payment fails, we will attempt to charge your payment method again. If payment cannot be collected after 15 days, your monitoring service may be suspended.
  • You are responsible for keeping your payment information current.

6. Cancellation

  • You may cancel your service at any time with no cancellation fees or penalties.
  • To cancel, log into your account and select "Cancel Service," or call us at 743-ALERTOR (743-253-7867).
  • Upon cancellation, your service will remain active until the end of your current billing period.
  • No refunds will be issued for partial months.
  • Upon cancellation, your Alarm.com account will be deactivated and your panel will no longer be monitored.

7. Equipment and Compatibility

  • Alertor does not provide alarm equipment as part of the monitoring service unless separately purchased.
  • You are responsible for ensuring your alarm panel and sensors are in working condition.
  • Your equipment must be compatible with the Alarm.com platform. Use our compatibility checker to verify.
  • Alertor is not responsible for equipment malfunctions, damage, or failures not caused by our service.

8. Customer Responsibilities

As a customer, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate account information and keep it updated.
  • Maintain your alarm equipment in working condition.
  • Ensure your panel has a working communication path (cellular, broadband, or phone line).
  • Test your system regularly (we recommend monthly).
  • Comply with all local laws regarding alarm systems, including obtaining any required permits.
  • Pay any false alarm fines imposed by local authorities due to your alarm system activations.

9. Monitoring Limitations

You acknowledge and agree that:

  • No alarm system can prevent all losses from burglary, fire, or other emergencies.
  • Monitoring signals depend on communication paths (cellular, internet, phone) that may be disrupted by power outages, network failures, or other causes beyond our control.
  • Response times by law enforcement or emergency services are outside our control.
  • Alertor is not an insurer. Our service reduces risk but does not eliminate it.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Alertor's total liability for any claims arising from or related to the Services shall not exceed the total amount paid by you for Services during the twelve (12) months preceding the claim. Alertor shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.

11. Alarm.com Platform

Our monitoring services are provided through the Alarm.com platform. Your use of the Alarm.com app and website is also subject to Alarm.com's own terms of service and privacy policy. Alertor is not responsible for Alarm.com platform outages, changes, or limitations.

12. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy for information on how we collect, use, and protect your personal data.

13. Modifications to Terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through our website. Continued use of our Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of New York County, New York.
